Cupping in Traditional Chinese Medicine
Used very early in human history and made of various materials, cupping glasses are now made of glass. The therapist creates a vacuum inside them and then places them on the body part to be treated. The cups are left in place for a few minutes and then removed.
It is an essential component of the traditional Chinese medicine which is offered to the patient on a case-by-case basis.
What are the benefits of cupping?
The mechanical action of the cups recreates space in the tissues, helping blood and energy to circulate freely, getting rid of toxins and reducing pain. The applications are very wide: muscular, joint, chronic pain, stress, gynecological and premenstrual symptoms, respiratory system, digestive, sleep, migraines, etc. In some cases, cupping is used for dermatological purposes. Cupping on the bladder meridian improves general health.
It is a non-invasive method that only leaves a color on the skin for a few days.

How a Cupping session works
A cupping session takes place in 4 stages:
1 anamnesis
The session begins with an anamnesis. The therapist identifies the tensions and pains that are causing the patient problems. He or she proposes a treatment solution that includes cupping.
2 suction cups
There are several different methods for applying cupping, and the therapist chooses them based on their needs. The patient is placed in strategic areas with the cups for a few minutes. The cups are then removed and the needles are inserted.
3 rest
The patient rests for 30 minutes with the needles and a heating lamp in a dedicated individual room.
4 End of session
The patient should avoid showering for the next hour. There are no other contraindications. It is a good idea to rehydrate with the herbal tea offered at the end of the session.

It is normal to feel some tension where the cups are applied. If you experience any discomfort, it is important to report it to your therapist.
How many sessions do it take to obtain results?
The number of sessions required to achieve results varies depending on the individual and the condition being treated. Some patients experience immediate relief after a single session, while others may need multiple sessions to see significant improvements. Your therapist will assess your response to treatment and recommend a session plan tailored to your needs.
Why choose cupping over other therapy?
Cupping is known to improve blood circulation, relax muscles, and help relieve pain. This technique is also used to treat various health issues, such as muscle tension, stress, fatigue, and certain respiratory conditions. Cupping is a non-invasive and natural treatment method.
From what age can you do cupping?
Cupping can be performed on people of all ages, including children, but the approach and pressure used will be adapted according to the patient's age and physical condition. For children and the elderly, special care is taken to ensure that the cupping pressure is gentle and comfortable.
